3/28 Outbuilding at Grange Farm North-East of Farmhouse -

Outbuilding used as a stable or brewhouse. Early C18 in the manner of the outbuildings of Chicheley Hall. Chequer brick, hipped roof of old tiles, brick chimney to left, 2 storeys. 1st floor band, S. front of 3 bays, openings now bricked, formerly 4-light wood mullioned and transomed windows and plain central door. Side elevations of 2 bays, with 2 blank windows to W elevation, Said to have been built as an eyecatcher terminating an avenue centred on the N. elevation of the Hall. Interior: Large fireplace in smaller left hand room with brick stack apparently inserted at a later date. RCHM II p 89 MON 3 (part)
