Description
Number 2 High Street is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features three windows. It is constructed of red brick and has a shallow slate roof with paired brackets at the eaves. The centre window on both the first and second floors is blind, while the second-floor windows have wooden lintels and glazing bar sashes. The first floor is notable for its two three-light oriel bays, also with slate roofs and sash windows. The building has a wide Victorian shop front, which includes two fascia brackets and three fluted pilasters. It is part of a group that includes the Public Hall and numbers 2 to 24 (even), 24a, 26, and 28, with numbers 14, 16, and 20 being of local interest.
