Description

This chest tomb, dating from the early 19th century, is located approximately 30 metres northeast of the Church of St Mary Magdalen in Gillingham. It is made of limestone ashlar and designed in a classical style. The tomb is rectangular and sits on a raised base, featuring a moulded plinth that extends to the corners beneath rusticated end sections. Both sides of the tomb have raised panels, and it is topped with a moulded surface. The inscription on the tomb is not legible.
