Description
No. 2 Prospect Row is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red Flemish bond brick and features a brick party wall stack, topped with a tiled roof that includes a central lateral wing at the rear. The building has a two-room right-angle plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a two-window range on the front.
The exterior is distinguished by a deep foliate modillion eaves cornice and a well-crafted timber doorcase on the left. This doorcase includes an architrave and a bracketed broken modillion pediment, along with a six-panel door that has a glazed top. The ground floor features rubbed brick flat arches, and the windows are 6/6-pane sashes set in flush frames, with a dormer that has a flat-headed 3/3-pane sash. The rear of the house has a two-window gable that pairs with the gable of No. 3.
The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a diverse terrace that was built between 1705 and 1759.
