Description
White Lodge is a villa located at the corner of Upton Road and Pellhurst Road in Swanmore, dating from around 1830 to 1850. The building is two storeys high and features a stucco façade on the east side. The first floor juts out with a rough cast finish to the south. It has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with wide eaves and a deep frieze.
On the east front, there are two superimposed bow windows with three lights each, featuring sash windows with intact glazing bars. The ground floor has a cornice, and the eaves curve out over the first-floor bow windows. The entrance is located on the south side, where the jettied first floor has a crenellated parapet and one window. The door is recessed and has four moulded panels, two of which are glazed, with a plain surround flanked by Doric pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice above. The east front also includes three windows on the first floor and two recessed sash windows on the ground floor, both with intact glazing bars and block sills. A conservatory has been added to the property.
