  1. Probably the oldest house in Ryde dating back to the early C17 but considerably altered and enlarged in the first half of the C19. Parts of the half timbering survive to the North end with panelling, the original tie beam, the base of one principal rafter and a diagonal strut, with old brick nogging. Gable end partly old tile roof with C19 dormer and cross gable which projects in yellow brick bay over entrance, supported on brick piers. Bargeboards to this gable and to the other C19 gabled additions to East and South. The windows are C19 casements.
