Description

No. 20, The Esplanade, dates from around 1840 and is similar in appearance to No. 19. Modern alterations have been made to the basement, and the original door has been converted into a window, with the lower sections of its surrounding pilasters removed. An attic was added earlier in the 20th century, featuring a heavy, moulded cornice. The front elevation has three narrow, horizontal windows, each with a moulded surround and shaped apron. Despite the alterations, the house retains its original proportions and the characteristic bow front. Nos. 15 to 20 form a notable group.
