Description

Sandlands Cottage is a 16th-century building, with alterations from the 18th century, located on Steyne Road, Seaview. It is a two-storey cottage constructed from red brick with grey header casing. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in old tiles, with tall red brick stacks positioned at the ridge ends. The cottage has two windows, both casements with two lights. The windows have 18th-century leading to the ground floor and glazing bars to the first floor. A plain wooden cottage door is centrally located, above which is an early 19th-century plaque relating to the County Fire Insurance company. The interior retains original flooring and beams, along with traces of purlins and a tie beam on the first floor and in the attic space.
