Description

This is a water hydrant located adjacent to Brembae in Whitwell, built in 1887. It is made of cast iron and stands about 3 feet high. The hydrant features a fluted column on a moulded base, topped with a domed fluted cap that has an acorn finial and a lion's head mask below. There is a knob on the left-hand side. The maker's name, Glenfield and Co., is also present. This hydrant is part of a series of water hydrants in Whitwell.
