Description

BEMBRIDGE SZ68NW CENTURION'S LANE 1352-0/2/5 Stanwell Farm GV II

Farmhouse. Dated 1693 over north gable and 1697 over doorway, altered restored and extended in C19. Built of Isle of Wight stone rubble with tiled roof. 2 storeys and attics. East front has 4 windows and attics in gable ends. Gable ends with stone coping and kneelers. 4 C19 casements. Late C17 wooden doorcase having 3-plank door with iron hinges and studs with the carving ER 1697 and carved heart between. Renewed brick chimney stack. North gable has the initials BB and date 1693. Attached to this is C19 gabled extension with casement windows and there are modern wings to the south. Stone wall and pump by back door. Interior retains chamfered beams. 1 original 12-light wooden casement.
