Description
1 and 2 Holyrood Street is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high and is constructed with grey headers. It features a gable end roof covered with old tiles and has a stepped header eaves cornice. On the first floor, there are two Victorian bay windows, each with three lights, sash windows, plain strips, a frieze, a cornice, and block sills. The ground floor displays the frame of a mid-19th century shop front, which includes a plate glass window to the left of the door and another window with three lights to the right. Both windows have colonettes and curved upper corners on the panes. The door is panelled at the bottom and glazed above, topped with a rectangular fanlight that also has curved upper corners. The entrance is flanked by Doric pilasters that support a cornice, which is partly taken up by a blind case.
