Description
The War Memorial to the prison officers of Camp Hill Prison is a First World War memorial made of stone, featuring a bronze plaque. It stands two meters high and consists of an octagonal tapering obelisk topped with a ball finial, set on a moulded base that rests on a square plinth with two square steps. The south side of the plinth is adorned with a carved cross. On the west side, there is a square bronze plaque with a gadrooned edge, inscribed with the words 'TO THE MEMORY OF THE OFFICERS OF H. M. PRISON CAMP HILL WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR'. Below this inscription are the names of six prison officers.
