Description
Nos 3 to 5 on Union Street are a terrace of three houses built as a single composition in the early 19th century. The buildings are three storeys high, with Nos 3 and 4 finished in stucco and No 5 in cement. Each house features two windows. No 3, which is the corner building, has a rounded end and an additional window facing Castle Street. The terrace has a cornice and a panelled parapet. No 3 includes a three-light window on the first floor with an architrave above, while No 4 has a similar bay window with intact glazing bars. No 5 features a flattened bow window of three lights, with pilasters between the lights and a cornice above, although the glazing bars are missing. The ground floors have modern shop fronts. This group of houses, along with Nos 1 to 13 and No 15, forms a cohesive architectural ensemble.
