Description

The Under Rock Hotel is a villa dating to around 1850. It has an unusual polygonal plan with a service wing extending to the north, and rectangular projections facing each of the four sides. The roof is hipped and covered in slate, with flat eaves. Windows are wood casements with horizontal glazing bars. A string course marks the first floor. The walls are of tooled ashlar with yellow stone banding. A modern glazed entrance has been added. The building features corniced chimneys.
