Description

Brookside is a villa built around 1830-1840, with an extension added to the east at a slightly later date. The building is two storeys high and constructed from stone rubble, topped with a low hipped slate roof that features shallow overhanging eaves. The original house has three windows, which are glazing bar sashes set in tooled ashlar rusticated surrounds, complemented by similar quoins. The ground floor has later French casements. A trellis porch adds to the entrance. The taller extension to the east has one window and a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves, and it slightly projects forward. The east return has three windows, with large sashes on the ground floor.
