Terraced house. c1840. Attributed by AT Bolton to Sir Charles Barry. Stucco and yellow brick laid in Flemish bond, roof of slate. 4 storeys over basement with dormers, 4-window range. The present ground floor dates from a refurbishment of 1989-90, and replaces a C20 shop front. Ground floor decorated with vermiculated rustication; steps up to broad, segmental-arched entrance with double doors. Shallow full-height segmental bay to 3 left-hand windows. Ground-floor windows segmental-arched with chamfered reveals; upper floors have vermiculated quoins to sides; all upper windows flat-arched; first- and second-floor windows have moulded stucco architraves and cornices, those to second floor with sill band of Vitruvian scroll; third-floor windows have plain architraves and bracketed sills; modillion cornice; balustraded parapet; dormers in roof.
