Description

Numbers 31-35 and their attached railings are a group of early 19th-century terraced houses. The ground floors are stuccoed, with tarred cobbles and painted brickwork above, although Number 33 is now entirely stuccoed. The roofs are slate, as far as visible.

The houses are three storeys high with a basement, and feature dormers. Each front has a full-height, full-width segmental bay, apart from Number 33, which has a late 19th-century shop front at ground floor level. The ground floor is decorated with banded rustication. Round-arched entrances have fanlights. Numbers 31 and 34-35 have cornices to the doorcase, with Greek key detailing, while Numbers 34-35 also have original panelled doors. The windows are flat-arched, with painted brick dressings on the first and second floors, and painted brick quoins to the sides. Bracketed balconies with cast-iron railings are present on the first floors. The buildings are topped by a parapet, with dormers in a mansard roof, and stacks to the party walls.

The interiors have not been inspected. Numbers 31-32 and 34-35 have cast-iron railings to the steps and area, finished with spearhead finials.
