Description
Nos. 18 and 19 Prince Albert Street are terrace houses, now serving as shops, restaurants, and flats, built around 1840. The building features brick in Flemish bond for No. 18 and stucco for No. 19. It stands three storeys over a basement, with a roof obscured by a blocking course. Each house has two windows, with straight front walls along the street for No. 19, while No. 18 angles back to the party wall with Nos. 16 and 17. The ground floor has 20th-century shops, and all windows are flat arched with projecting sills. There is a storey band between the first and second floors. Notably, No. 18 shows marked settlement and has a brick entablature with a brick dentil cornice, while No. 19 features an entablature with pilaster strips at the party walls. Both houses have mid-19th century sash windows designed in a 2 x 2 configuration. Stacks are located at the party walls. The buildings form a group with Nos. 2-8 and 20-21B Prince Albert Street.
