Description

This drinking fountain, located at the corner of Old London Road and Patcham Bypass in Brighton, was built in 1897. It is made of grey and pink granite and features a central basin set within a panel of pink granite. On either side of the basin are troughs for dogs and horses, which are adorned with console scrolls. Above the central section, there is a pedimented gable that includes a pulvinated frieze inscribed with the words 'IN MEMORIAM'. The pediment also displays the date of construction, flanked by the initials JG.
