Description
The entrance piers to Brangwyn Way and Brangwyn Drive are two identical structures located on either side of the road leading to the Brangwyn Estate, which was developed by W.H. Lee around 1936. These piers are made of brick, concrete, and wrought iron. Each pier has an octagonal base that projects at the cardinal points, topped by a square section with narrow projections at the cardinal points that do not extend as high as the central part of the pier. The spaces between these projections are filled with narrow brick ribs set at an angle. At the top of each pier is a square wrought-iron electric lantern with chamfered corners, resting on a scrolled openwork base. The piers are set on a concrete plinth that is surrounded by low brick walls.
