Description

Wootton House is a detached house dating from the late 18th century, located on Old London Road in Patcham, Brighton. The house is constructed of mathematical tiles, with flint and red brick dressings to the rear, and has a replacement tile roof. It is two storeys high, with a basement, and has a three-window front, adopting a double-fronted design.

The entrance is round-arched, with a fanlight above a panelled door that retains its original design, though the original doorcase now consists only of pilasters and panelled reveals. An early 19th-century trellised porch has been removed. All windows have slightly cambered arches. Two dormers are visible on the hipped roof. The right-hand return elevation features two canted bays added to both the basement and ground floor. A two-storey wing extends to the north, faced with cobbles and red-brick dressings.

The interior of the house has not been inspected.
