Description
Number 15 and Ship Street Chambers are two early 19th-century terraced houses. The external appearance is stucco, with areas scored to resemble ashlar. The roof is hidden by a parapet. The building has three storeys over a basement, with a one-window façade to the left and a two-window façade to the right. The ground floor on the left has been altered to a shop front, which retains distinctive late 19th-century scalloped brackets. A flat-arched entrance exists to the right, including an overlight with decorative glazing, and a doorcase featuring engaged Doric columns and an entablature. To the right of the entrance is a three-storey segmental bay with tripartite windows, and a flat-arched window to the right of that bay. A similar segmental bay extends from the first to the second floors on the left, featuring sashes of original design on the first floor. The modillion cornice is apparently much renewed. The interior has not been inspected.
