Description
No. 63 Ship Street is a terraced house that features an early 19th-century refronting of an existing building. The exterior is finished in stucco, scored to resemble ashlar, with tile-hanging on the exposed northern gable and a tiled roof. The house has three storeys and a two-window range. The entrance is round-arched and includes a fanlight with intersecting glazing bars, an archivolt with a keystone, and is framed by Doric pilasters, an entablature, and an open pediment. The windows are flat-arched, with sashes of original design that have likely been renewed. The rear elevation is made of cobbles, featuring dressings of red and grey brick on the ground and first floors, and brown-red brick in Flemish bond on the second floor, with a one-window range and segmental-arched windows. The interior has not been inspected.
