Description
The structure consists of retaining walls and stairways located on the south front of a terrace, dating from around 1830 and restored in 1981-1982. It was designed by Decimus Burton and features a render over rubble or brick. The layout is symmetrical, with the east side comprising two sections of retaining wall that return to the southeast corner of Adelaide Crescent No 1. There is a stairway leading down to Kingsway at the east end, while the west end of the wall indicates roadway access to the Crescent. The walls are slightly splayed out and are made of vermiculated rustication, adorned with bottle balusters and moulded coping between square piers, along with solid baluster panels on the stairway. This design was part of the original layout for Adelaide Crescent.
