Description

Ten lamp posts located on Adelaide Crescent in Hove date from the late 19th century and were manufactured by J. Every of Lewes. They are made of cast iron and feature a square plinth that is chamfered to an octagon with ribbed surface decoration. The slender shaft consists of clustered columns, topped with a calyx capital and a swan neck support that holds the original shade for the light fitting. Electricity was installed in Hove between 1892 and 1893.
