GV II* Arts centre including theatre, exhibition spaces and coffee bar. 1967-69. Sir Basil Spence. Brick with some bare concrete. Flat roofs. Comprises complex multi-segmental circular forms, including tall central cylinder with segmental projections and lower surrounding circles and part-circles. Walls largely blind but circles breached in places for vertical slit windows, and sometimes linked by horizontal bands of glazing. Metal window frames. Cafe overlooks small pool of segmental shape.
