Description

No. 6 Castle Square is a terraced house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It has three storeys and dormers above a basement, with a one-window range and a stucco exterior. The roof is a mansard style covered with slate, with the right side nearly vertical. There is a shallow segmental bay on the first and second floors, and a projecting cornice that runs continuously across the front above the second floor. The bay extends into the parapet, which features a dormer window that has been significantly altered. On either side of the bay, at the party wall with No. 5 and at the corner, there are thin, giant panelled pilasters, with the one on the right having a laurel-wreath capital. There are chimney stacks on the left party wall. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of a group with Nos. 4, 5, and 7 Castle Square.
