Description

This is a pair of terraced houses, built in the early 19th century. They were originally a single unit but have since been altered and converted into offices and shops. The buildings are constructed of stucco. The roof of number 24 is hidden behind a parapet, while number 25 has a slate roof.

Number 24 is five stories high over a half basement, and number 25 is four stories high with dormers over a half basement. Each house has two windows. A staircase leads to the flat-arched entrance of number 25. Number 24 has a round-arched entrance with a fanlight featuring decorative glazing bars. This is set below a late 19th-century prostyle porch, consisting of a pair of Composite order columns that support a stilted segmental diaphragm arch and entablature. To the right of each entrance is a canted bay, which has been significantly altered on the basement and ground floors in the 20th century. The bay of number 24 rises to the third floor, while the bay of number 25 is full height. Both bays have tripartite, flat-arched windows with projecting sills. To the left of each bay, above the entrance, is one window on each floor. The fourth floor of number 24 has two windows with original 3 x 6 sash windows. Number 24 has an entablature band and parapet, while number 25 features a cornice and a severely damaged parapet. Number 25 has two dormers; the left is segmental arched, and the right is flat arched. Storey bands are visible on number 25 between the first and second, and second and third floors. Both houses have a first-floor balcony: number 24's balcony has cast-iron railings. Stacks are located on the party walls.

The interior has not been inspected. Numbers 20-31 form a group.
