Description
Woodcote Grove House is a Grade II listed building located on Bridle Way in Coulsdon. It is believed to have been built in the 1860s, although a house by this name was known to exist in the 18th century. However, no building is shown at this location on the Tithe Map, nor is a house mentioned in the Carew Sale Catalogue of 1859.
The house features a south front that is two storeys high with four window bays and a slate hipped roof. It has a moulded eaves cornice and a stuccoed front. On the first floor, there are two-light casements with louvred shutters, while the ground floor has three French casements and a door with sidelights. A veranda supported by cast-iron trellis supports is also present. There is one window bay on the east return; the veranda used to extend into this return and further east across a wing that has three sash windows on the first floor. The west front is also two storeys high and has three window bays. The building has later additions to its original structure.
