Description
The lychgate at the west entrance to the churchyard of St Mary's is a mid to late 19th-century structure. It features a hipped tile roof with gablets, supported by lateral timber-framed supports. Each support consists of a central wooden post set into a stone sill, with a curved brace rising from the top of the sill to support the post on either side. There is a balustrade above the sills on both sides of the central posts. This lychgate is part of a group that includes the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, other lychgates, churchyard walls, the Orangery Wall, Beddington Place, a gate and screen, the Pigeon House, Nos 1 to 3 Beddington Park Cottages, premises occupied by the Hockey Club and an adjoining structure, East Lodge, and various garden walls.
