Description

Nos 25 and 27 Park Hill are late 18th century to early 19th century houses, with a bill of sale from 1863 referencing a house dated 1800. The buildings are two storeys tall and feature colourwashed cement. On the first floor, there are three sash windows with blind boxes, and a band runs between the storeys. The left-hand bay is recessed. There is a modernized central wooden porch with a tented lead roof, a bay window to the right, and a sash window to the left of the porch. The north side of the rear wing is faced with flints and includes some pointed windows, and the roof is covered with slates. A building has been shown in this location on a map from 1762. The current houses are located immediately to the east of a chalk pit, which is part of a series of pits in the area that date back to the Middle Ages.
