Description

PARK HILL 1. 4430 (West Side) CARSHALTON Nos 25 and 27 TQ 2763 33/137 II 2. Late C18 to early C19; bill of sale, 1863, refers to house dated 1800. 2 Storeys. Colourwashed cement; 3 sashes with blind boxes on 1st floor, band between storeys. Left hand bay in recession. Modernized central wood porch with tented lead roof. Bay window to right, sash to left of porch. North return of rear wing faced with flints and with some pointed windows. Slates. A building is shown in this position in a map of 1762. Present house situated immediately to the east of a chalk pit, one of a series of pits in the area which dated back to the Middle Ages.
