Description
The gate piers and gates at Carshalton House date from the early 18th century. They feature stone-fielded panelled piers with coved friezes, cornices, and pedestals, each topped with a lion's head that has a fesse dancette murally crowned for Fellowes. The original double fold carriage gates are accompanied by a modern overthrow. These elements, along with the boundary walls in Pound Street and the lodge to Carshalton House, form a cohesive group.
