Description

This is a row of ten pairs of houses, built around 1842. The addresses are 91-125 and 84-122 Castelnau. Each house is two storeys and has a basement, with two windows across the front. Many have later additions including attics and dormers. Originally, each house had a side coach house, of which some have been rebuilt, converted, or enlarged. The roofs are slate, with deep eaves. The houses are constructed of stock brick with stucco dressings around the windows and entrance doors. The ground floor windows and doors have semi-circular heads. Each house is framed by two full-height stucco pilasters. The brickwork of numbers 92, 94, 102 and 114 has been painted. The odd-numbered houses (91-125) largely mirror the appearance of the even-numbered houses (84-122). Numbers 101, 103, 105, 111, 117, 119 and 125 have full-height side extensions. The brickwork of numbers 95 and 115 has also been painted.
