Description

This is a row of eight houses, numbered 2 to 16, built around 1840. They are stucco-faced with an incised line marking the base. The houses have low-pitched slate roofs with bracketed eaves. Numbers 6 and 8, 12 and 14 have been combined into a single dwelling, with three windows, the central one being non-functional on numbers 6 and 8. The remaining houses each have two windows.

The windows are recessed sash windows, most retaining their original glazing bars. They have flat stucco arches with incised keystones, and block sills. At ground floor level, some houses have a single window and a door consisting of four moulded panels. The other ground floor fronts have remnants of shop fronts dating to the mid-to-late 19th century, with the exception of number 14. Number 14 retains its original shop front, including pilasters, a frieze, and a moulded cornice, a four-pane window, and a glazed door with a rectangular fanlight.

Numbers 2 to 26 (even) are considered to be a group.
