Description

Milestone, probably from the late 18th century, made of Portland stone with a square section, featuring a plinth and a pyramidal head. The milestone is currently painted white and has the inscription "VIII miles from Hyde Park Corner" on the face that faces the road. The lettering was re-cut by the Richmond Society in 1989.
