Description
The garden wall enclosing four sides of a playing field is located 10 yards to the north of the Church of St Mary. This wall dates from the 16th to 17th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed of red brick and stands approximately 8 feet high, featuring both gabled capping and sections that have been rebuilt.
On the eastern side, facing Church Path, there is an 18th-century wrought iron gate with an overthrow set into the wall. Additionally, there are two large brick piers on the north side, which have moulded stone caps. A section of the west side is roughcast rendered against an adjoining house. There is also a later gateway on the east side and in the southwest corner.
