LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON ST MARY'S ROAD, SWl9 TQ 2471 (east side) 6/119 Queen Alexandra's Court (north eastern 27.4.1970 block) GV II

Residential block. 1904-5. Designed by Ernest George and Yeates with C E L Parkinson. Red brick, Portland stone dressings and quoins, steeply pitched hipped green slate roof to eaves. Neo-Georgian manner. 3 storeys; 14 bays, grouped in triplets, separated by wider entrance bays clad in Portland stone and pedimented with segmental arched entrances to ground floor, mullioned windows and arched balconied aperture above. Other windows square headed, gauged heads, sashed, glazing bars. Modillion eaves cornice. Slab chimneys. One of four similar blocks surrounding quadrangle (qv). Part of Royal Homes for Widows and Daughters of Naval and Military Officers.
