Description

The Farm is an early 18th-century house, likely built around 1700. It is a two-storey building with a gabled attic, constructed of plum brick and originally featuring three windows. The central window above the front door is a narrow, original fixed light. The outer windows are sash windows from the 19th century, with the exception of the first-floor window on the right-hand side, which is original to the 18th century and has been altered. The front door is an early 18th-century six-panel door with a radiating, heavy wood barred fanlight, simple reveals, and a dentilled cornice supported on shaped brackets. A band runs horizontally between the ground and first floors, and another is located below the attics. The gables are finished with tiling, and the roof is covered with old tiles. A Sun Fire Insurance mark is visible. Inside, a contemporary staircase features turned balusters. The house was historically the residence of the Hatchett family, and several monuments to them are located in the adjacent churchyard.
