Description

Strawberry House is an early 18th-century building that was refronted around 1730. It is constructed of brown brick and features two storeys with an attic. The façade includes six double-hung sash windows, each with rubbed red brick flat arches set in architraves. The first-floor windows have blind cases adorned with Greek key ornamentation. A cast iron porch with fluted columns supports a balcony, which has decorative railings. The porch also features an entablature with a reeded frieze and a modillion cornice. The building is topped with a machine tile roof and has three dormers. Inside, there is deal panelling, along with an Adam style ceiling and mantelpiece in the drawing room. Strawberry House is part of a group that includes Morton House, the railings of Morton House, the railings and gate to Strawberry House, Walpole House, and the gates and screen to Walpole House.
