Description

17 Somerset Road is a mid-18th century building that had its top floor and roof added in the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and has three storeys with six windows arranged in a 1:3:1:1 pattern. The central and right-hand sections of the building are slightly set forward. The windows are 19th-century sashes set in flush frames, with rubbled heads on the ground and first floors. The central bay features a round-headed doorway with a panelled door and a fanlight, flanked by impost blocks, and is topped with a late 19th-century hood. The building has a slate roof and creates a visual landmark when viewed from the Butts.
