Description
Cripps Farmhouse is a late 16th century or early 17th century house that has been significantly altered on the outside in the early 19th century or more recently. The building is two storeys high and features five irregularly placed windows. It has a hipped tiled roof adorned with decorative modern ridge tiles. The walls are currently roughcast, and there are recessed sash windows with glazing bars set under segmental arches. A central modern gabled wooden porch leads to a half-glazed door. Inside, there is a large inglenook fireplace made of old brick, which includes a Tudor-arched niche on the right and a sunk panel above it with chamfered angles. The interior also features several beams with stopped chamfers, although the roof timbers have been renewed.
