Description
The stable block located to the north-east of Harefield Park is a 2-storey, 7-bay structure built in the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof. The front elevation has been rendered and includes a parapet, with blank panels on the first floor. The ground floor has replaced sash windows with glazing bars set under segmental arches that have key blocks. There are carriage doors in the outer bays, and a central entrance is framed by a raised surround with impost blocks and a triple key. Above the entrance, there is a sundial. The ridge of the building supports the columned base of a lost cupola, which once had a figure of an eagle on top. The stable block is part of a group that includes Harefield Park and its surrounding walls.
