Description
This is an early 18th-century house located at 3 and 3A Crooms Hill, with later alterations. The building is three storeys high with a basement and originally had four windows. The roof is steeply pitched and has been renewed with machine tiles. The exterior is constructed of multicoloured stock brick with red brick dressings; the second floor and much of the first floor have been rebuilt. The sash windows have been mostly replaced, though one original window with glazing bars remains on the right side of the front door. Horizontal bands mark the first and second floors. Original red brick dressings remain on the ground floor windows, and the original window frame is visible in the ground floor window on the right. A ground floor window on the left has been altered to create an entrance for No 3A, with a plain window above. New steps lead to the entrance doorway, which has a moulded architrave, panelled pilasters, console brackets, a broken-front cornice, and a pediment. The fanlight above the door has been renewed. Original wrought iron area railings are also present.
