Description
St Mary's Lodge, located in the northwest corner of Greenwich Park, is a slightly ornamental cottage built in the second quarter of the 19th century. The building features a two-storey central block that projects in a half-octagon shape and has three windows. Flanking the central block are one-storey, one-window side wings. The cottage has a low-pitched slated roof that is hipped at both ends and over the projection, with deep eaves soffits supported by curved brackets. The walls are finished in stucco and include a first-floor band. The windows on the first floor are low, segment-headed casement windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor features round arched windows that have been replaced with casements under radial heads. A projecting central porch with a low gable, angle pilasters, and a cornice band leads to a plain modern door.
