Description
This is a late 19th-century house of two storeys, an attic, and a basement, originally featuring three windows and an L-shaped layout. The building is constructed in a Tudor style, using coursed freestone with stone quoins and a plinth. A decorative band is situated below the attic window on the right section. The roof is steeply pitched and slate-covered, with fleur-de-lys ridge tiles, curved and pierced bargeboards, and deep eaves. The left section of the house projects under a gable end. Dormers, gabled and breaking the eaves, are present on the right section. The windows have flat surrounds; those on the right are single-light sash windows set under Tudor arches. A continuous dripmould covers the ground floor windows. In the left section, a two-light sash window is located in the gable, with a square head and Tudor-arched lights, while a first-floor window is similar but three-light and also has a drip mould. A canted bay with a slated roof and four Tudor arched lights is present on the ground floor and basement. The front door is situated in a gabled porch in the angle of the building and is surrounded by lights creating three four-centred heads. The house forms a group with numbers 37 and 39 (odd), including gate piers and walls.
