Description

This is a terrace of six houses, numbered 6 to 11, located on St Alfege Passage in Southwark, London. The terrace was built in the second quarter of the 19th century. Each house is two storeys high with a basement and features two windows. The houses are constructed of colourful stock brick with a renewed stucco cornice band and parapet. A band runs along the cills of the long first-floor windows, incorporating cast iron balconettes. Windows have gauged brick arches. Raised panels are situated above the first-floor windows. The windows are now replacement sashes with glazing bars. Ground-floor entrances are round-arched, leading to a two-panel door with side pilasters, a cornice head, and a plain fanlight. The frontages are further characterized by cast iron hand and area railings. The houses, taken together, form a group.
