Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of houses, numbered 141 to 155, located on Shooters Hill Road. The terrace comprises a series of identical houses, each of which is two storeys high with an attic and basement, and features two windows. A distinctive full-length, rounded bay window dominates each house. The roofs are slate-covered, with a moderate pitch, hipped at the ends and rounded forward over the bay windows. Paired doorways are situated between the bays. Each round bay is topped with a round-headed dormer window. Deep eaves with a soffit run along the roofline. The houses are constructed of multicoloured stock brick, with a rendered basement. A stucco band runs along the first-floor window sills. The sash windows have glazing bars, with the ground-floor windows being three-light designs. The windows within the rounded bays are curved to match. The entrances are recessed and have corniced heads with rectangular fanlights, set back within moulded architraves. Nos. 141 and 153 feature wrought iron balconies to the ground-floor windows. Numbers 129 to 163A (odd numbers) are grouped together as a cohesive architectural entity.
