BARNET TQ2588 WILLIFIELD WAY 31-0/26/10280 (South West side) Hampstead Garden Suburb Nos.91 AND 93 and attached wall GV II

Pair of artisans' cottages. 1909-1910. Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin. Painted pebbledash, some lintels of brick; weatherboarding to gable headed dormers; hipped roof of tile with exposed rafter ends. Two storeys and three window range. Vernacular Revival style, with features found on others in this most important run of Parker and Unwin houses in Willifield Way, Nos. 55-111 odd (q.v.). Ground-floor window on axis with first- and third-window ranges; entrance to NO.91 between, with hall light to right; entrance to No.93 near corner. Doors and casement windows of an original design; all openings are flat arched, those to ground floor with weatherings. Three dormers, each subtly different: in first range two-light projecting well below eaves, in second, two-light stopping at eaves line and in third, three-light projecting well below the eaves line. Expanse of first-floor wall to right corner wider than to left. Right return of two dormer windows. Axial ridge stack near centre line of block; square ridge stack abutting peak of roof's left hip. Included in this listing is that part of the garden wall and archway which is shared with No.95 (q.v.).
