Description
Numbers 91 and 93 are a pair of artisans' cottages built between 1909 and 1910 by architects Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin, located on Willifield Way in Hampstead Garden Suburb. The cottages feature painted pebbledash with some brick lintels and weatherboarding on the gable-headed dormers. They have a hipped roof covered in tiles with exposed rafter ends.
The buildings are two storeys high and have three window ranges in a Vernacular Revival style, which is characteristic of other houses designed by Parker and Unwin in this area, particularly those numbered 55 to 111 odd. The ground-floor window aligns with the first and third window ranges, with the entrance to No. 91 positioned between them and a hall light to the right. The entrance to No. 93 is located near the corner. The doors and casement windows are of an original design, and all openings are flat arched, with weatherings on the ground-floor openings.
There are three dormers, each with subtle differences: the first range has a two-light dormer projecting well below the eaves, the second has a two-light dormer that stops at the eaves line, and the third features a three-light dormer projecting well below the eaves line. The first-floor wall on the right corner is wider than that on the left. The right return of the building includes two dormer windows. There is an axial ridge stack near the center of the block and a square ridge stack at the peak of the roof's left hip. This listing also includes the part of the garden wall and archway that is shared with No. 95.
