Description
This is a late 17th-century gate house, originally situated within the grounds of "The Grove." The gate itself has been removed, but the gate house retains one window facing the road. It features a horizontal sliding sash window to the side and external steps leading to a raised floor, with a cellar located at the rear. The gate house is constructed of red brick and has a tiled roof. A brick wall, partially dating to the 18th century, runs alongside it. The wall is primarily of mid-20th century construction, replacing an earlier wall that fronted the road and associated with the Priory. The wall stands 8 feet high. The gate house and wall are included on the list for their group value.
