Description

Numbers 4 to 36, including the front garden wall, form a terrace dating to the 1860s. The buildings are constructed of brick, with a stucco finish to the ground floor which is channelled to imitate ashlar. They have Welsh slate roofs. The terrace comprises three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with each house featuring two bays. Projecting Ionic porches, some of which are damaged, provide access via panelled doors with overlights. The ground floor windows are tripartite sashes set within vermiculated quoined surrounds. First-floor windows are casement windows enclosed within pedimented surrounds with attached fluted Corinthian columns. A balustraded balcony is present. Further sash windows are located above, within architraves. A scrollwork frieze and cornice run along the facade, with a further cornice marking the attic level. The roof is a Mansard roof. Original iron railings define the basement level, while a low, stucco balustraded wall forms the front garden boundary. The property was undergoing renovation at the time of the resurvey.
